Chris Cowling has been a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard visual staff since 2016. His DCI experience started with Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps from 2001 – 2005 where he was the Drum Major for five seasons. Chris was a visual staff member at Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps from 2007 to 2012, Caption Head from 2010 to 2012 and, after a short break, returned to Pacific Crest for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

In 2014 Chris joined Pulse Percussion as a member of their Board of Directors. He held that position until 2017.  Chris is now a Visual Instructor for Pulse Percussion, a position he took in 2017.

He is also currently a full-time visual designer, instructor, and clinician for marching bands and indoor drumlines. Chris is a Southern California native, he currently resides in Mira Loma, CA.
