Riche is a long time friend of Box Six has a lot of experience working with and writing our shows. He specializes in writing for smaller ensembles and we are excited to add him to our list of recommended visual desingers!
Richie has been active for over twenty years in the marching arts in Southern California. He has worked with Scholastic and Independent groups from all levels (Intermediate, High School, Community College, A class, Open Class, World Class) and even Open Class Drum Corps. His roles have included: instructor/caption head (brass, visual, Drum Major, Front Ensemble); designer (brass, visual/drill, and front ensemble); consultant; program coordinator; and director (Pulse Percussion: 2012-2015, Los Alamitos HS: 2009-2012, and La Quinta HS: 2012-2023). The experience and knowledge Richie gained from all these roles, he has been applying and focusing as a visual/drill designer for Marching Bands, Indoor Percussion, Winter Guards, and Indoor Winds groups.
Richie believes that success in life = (the people you meet) + (what you create together). He emphasizes professionalism and collaboration allowing him to be active and available throughout the entire design process. As a former Director of Instrumental Music, he has a unique perspective that allows him to create a visual package that is appropriate, achievable, engaging, coordinated, and focuses on proper placement of the performers while still being modern and exciting.
