Description:

Interweaving and interstellar-type music inspired by Holst's Planets, Radiohead, and Tron create a fantastic palette of colors and sounds. Specifically designed to be performed for a younger ensemble, the Into the Cosmos scoring uses smart and simple voicing, range considerations, and basic technical demand. The use of electronics can ensure a smaller ensemble will sound full and create the wonderful character required of this type of music.

Conceptually, the show is a journey through space that reminds the audience of the wonders beyond planet Earth and how small we really are in this universe. The show seeks to reignite our fascination with the unknown and explore the sounds that we have come to recognize as the soundtrack to the cosmos.

This show was originally commissioned for the fall of 2014 and was released for the 2015 season.
