Desperado is a modern take on the traditional idea of a western show. This show is based off the famous quote by Nelson Mandela “When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw.”
The highlight of the show is an arrangment of the classic song "House of the Rising Sun" which features a trombone soloist. This song is the cornerstone of the entire show, as we started with this arrangement and are built everything else around it. Not only is it recognizable and a perfect fit, it also does not have any copyrights!
"Desperado' was written by Fred Emory Smith and John Mapes. It was originally commissioned for the fall of 2024 and was released for the 2025 season.
