Description:

     "Wonderland" is an homage to one of our favorite composers, Danny Elfman, and an instantly memorable take on the classic Alice in Wonderland story. “Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.” This show was originally desinged for indoor percussion and has now been completely reworked for marching band! Specifically targeting the intermediate level ensemble, this show will challenge the group musically and visually while still being rooted in achievable skill sets. The storyboard looks like:

Mvt 1 - Alice arrives in Wonderland and begins her exploration

Mvt 2 - Alice becomes enamoured with this new place and all of it's oddities and inhabitants.

Mvt 3 - The countdown to return home begins as the clock ticsk away. Her timing is running short and she say a heartfelt goodbye to the residents of Wonderland.

     The production would need one strong performer to be the “Alice” character. This is potentially a show where the entire band could be in unique costumes as residents of Wonderland, or they could have a unifying element that makes them a little less traditional and more interesting in this modernized storybook landscape. Guard costuming could be the Black and White look from the original, or anything that will stand out as visually striking and captivating on a large field. One of the main effects of the show is to create a large set change when entering Wonderland, and again when Alice leaves. All these effects can be scalable to your band's abilities, but the foundation is there for a maxed out GE production!

    This show was originally commissioned for the fall of 2023 and was released for the 2024 season.
