Description:

Inspired by the concept of our indoor production, Drawn to the Flame, this new bersion features an entirely original soundtrack and show progression designed specifically for marching band. A fusion of immersive sound design and orchestral inspiration, paired with a built-in visual identity, creates a production that is both impactful and accessible—setting your ensemble up for success.

At its core, the show explores the universal and complex human experience of being drawn toward something that is simultaneously alluring and potentially harmful. This tension highlights the paradoxical nature of desire and provides a rich foundation for a wide range of interpretive possibilities within the visual program. Moth wings and flame imagery can be expressed through costuming and flags, while a large lantern-style prop may serve as the symbolic flame anchoring the production.

This show is based off of Stravinksy's Firebird which is in the public domain and features a Trumpet solo in mvt 1, a Flute/Clarinet duet and a Flute/Muted trumpet in mvt 2 and a Flute solo in mvt 3.

"Like a Moth to a Flame" was originally commissioned for the fall of 2025 and was released for the 2026 season.
