Time Waits for No Man has undergone a serious transformation from the marching band version to this adapted indoor percussion version! The new direction for this show is told right out of the gate by the line "The ticking clock, never slows, never tires, always moving forward." In its simplest form, the show is based off the concept that time never stops, so what are we going to do with the time we are given? Distinct sounds of ticking clocks and thematic voice overs are paired with the music expressing urgency, looming darkness, and hopeful resilience that make this show emotional and timely.
Conceptually, the original idea was to have some sort of large prop that moves across the floor slowly the entire show to represent time never stopping. There can be many interactions with the prop throughout demonstrating this passage of time creating a thematic through-line. This show can be performed with the original idea or with a new concept layered on top.
This show was originally commissioned for marching band in the fall of 2018 and was released for the 2020 indoor season as is a custom version adapted for indoor percussion.
