This production concentrates on the modern day Celtic culture (early 19th Century to present) focusing on the regions, sounds and imagery of Scotland and Ireland. This is not a narration/story-telling show, however for the purpose of driving the production, we have a subtle story line keeping things moving and motivating the visual program. By using a Celtic Muse(s) as the primary character(s), the story is one of intrigue allowing the viewer to simply enjoy the musical and visual kinetics, or dig deeper and “follow” the story if they so choose. The muses can be represented by a guard, dance team or visual ensemble while the percussion are the villagers/common folk.
This show was originally commissioned for the fall of 2015 and was released for the 2017 season. This show was the bronze medalist in PSA with Victor HS at WGI championships 2017! The 2nd movement is completely new and was written specifically for percussion instead of trying to make the winds version work.
The video below is not the best quality, but will hopefully help see the potential of the show.
