This production concentrates on the modern day Celtic culture (early 19th Century to present) focusing on the regions, sounds, and imagery of Scotland and Ireland. Melodic phrases, flute solos, and electronic samples of bagpipes further the Celtic feel throughout the show.
The Muse was designed as a music-driven show creating a soundtrack that lends itself to lush green landscapes and an ethereal Celtic vibe. This show can be performed as purely abstract or a group could create their own storyline centered around 'the muse' that can be musically tied to the female vocalist woven into the score.
Victor HS was the PSA bronze medalist with The Muse at WGI championships 2017! The video below is not the best quality, but will hopefully help see the potential of the show.
This show was originally commissioned for the fall of 2015 and was released for the 2017 season. The 2nd movement is completely new and was written specifically for percussion.
