     Welcome to the world of Stanley Kubrick! This show spans a wide range of recognizable, iconic film and classical scores – ultimately sounding like what we think of “Kubrick.” Able to change genres and moods throughout the show. Kubrick movies are in pop culture, have been parodied, and everyone knows the music. We specially showcase inspiration from some Kubricks top films including The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Eyes Wide Shot, Clockwork Orange and many more.

Stanley Kubrick – One of the greatest filmmakers in cinematic history, his films spanned a number of genres and gained recognition for their intense attention to detail, innovative cinematography, extensive set design, and dark humor. Famous for the painstaking care taken in researching his films and staging scenes, performed in close coordination with his actors, crew, and other collaborators. Broke new cinematic ground and are now considered landmarks.

     "Kubrick" features a Piano and a Tenor Sax soloist. Arrangements include: “Funeral Music for Queen Mary” by Henry Purcell, “Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30” by Richard Strauss, “Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta” by Béla Bartók, “Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 "Choral": II. Molto vivace” by Beethoven, “The Blue Danube Waltz, Op. 314” by Johann Strauss II, “The Thieving Magpie” by Gioachino Rossini and “Strangers In the Night” by Bert Kaempfert (copyright needed)

There will be a simplified percussion version available in early 2025.

    This show was written by Darren Loney, John Mapes & Trent Gronewold. It was originally commissioned for Gahr HS in the fall of 2024 and was released for the 2025 season.
