Description:

The concept of Between the Keys takes place within the mind of a pianist. Starting with a simple and memorable piano motif, the featured pianist acts as a catalyst throughout the show to spawn a stream of consciousness exploration of ideas.

Visually, the set can be manipulated in a wide variety of ways through large vertical white and black moving props that represent the keys of the piano. The more you have the better! The mobility of these props allows the visual production to change the shape and dimension of the negative space on the floor

This show was originally commissioned for Chino Hills HS for the fall of 2018 and was released for the 2020 indoor season as a custom version adapted for indoor percussion and was the WGI Open Class Silver Medalist in 2024.
