Shrouded in mystery and ancient magic, “HEXED” brings a GE-packed production to your audience that fuses exotic percussion flavors and unique soundscapes that packs a punch!  Picture the aesthetic of The Village or The Witcher, old world type cinematic feel to it, with a modern film score edge. 

Part 1: Starts with a totally still picture - everyone is either hidden or posed in frozen statue poses or something. One single performer is the main witch and casts the first spell to bring her coven to life, then all of them swirl around and cast a bigger spell that brings the whole ensemble to life.

Part 2: The village casts out the character and banishes them to another part of the set on the outskirts looking in. Villagers celebrate a moment of peace with The Witch gone, ballad ensues. But all the while, the witch or the whole visual ensemble is stalking the perimeter looking in with hints of the vengeful magic spirits poking through the music from time to time to create intrigue.

Part 3: The Witch or witches plan their revenge and hexes the whole village from the outside, this could happen during the first part of mvt 3 where the witch starts controlling sections of the ensemble with their magic. This is essentially a voodoo doll type of effect done en masse. The show concludes with the witches freezing everyone back into statues at the end as the villagers will become trapped forever as punishment for being banished. 

This show was originally commissioned for the fall of 2024 and was released for the 2026 indoor season as a custom version adapted for indoor percussion.
