The Grind is not your average "Wake up, go to work, go home" show; it's all about a day in the life in the city from the alarm clock in the morning to an exciting night! The show opens with the hustle and bustle of the morning traffic into a playful soundtrack of a day at work. Movement 2 is a sleepy ballad for the afternoon lull and movement 3 hits the town with upbeat, jazzy rhythms for an upbeat nightlife.
Taking every opportunity to pull GE from familiar situations, this show will bring everyday sounds and events to the field in a way everyone can relate to and thoroughly enjoy. The scene can be set with backdrops of the city and the battery could represent factory workers through the uniforms and use of props.
This show was originally commissioned for the Los Alamitos HS for the fall of 2013 and was released for the 2015 indoor season as a custom version adapted for indoor percussion.
