The Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico that involves family and friends gathering to pray for and remember those who have passed on to the after life. In Mexican culture, Dia De Los Muertos is a day of celebration remembering the loved ones lost, who for one day awake and celebrate with the living.
Musically, the production relies on tasteful soundscapes and the musical influence of Mexican folk music. The score acts as the soundtrack to the movie-like plot development for the audience. Having a male and female character is very important for this show! A female trumpet and male guitarist is best if possible. The guitar parts can be played on a synth if needed to tell the story.
Dia De Los Muertos was originally an Independent World class finalist at WGI Championships in 2019 performed by POW Percussion. This show was released for the 2020 indoor season.
