Genghis Khan was the first to unite all of the Mongol tribes in the late 11th century. His barbarian armies then dominated the landscape and created the largest land empire in world history. Centuries of internal conflict ensued over the massive empire. Drawing inspiration from these events, Legends of the East is a fast-paced journey through the past evoking sounds of urgency, strength, and mystery. A fearless leader, an epic battle, and the rebuilding of a fallen empire will transport the audience to the merciless yet mystical world of the Mongol Empire in this concept-driven show. Note: This show requires one strong battery performer to be the main character.
This show was originally commissioned for marching band in the fall of 2012 and was released for the 2014 indoor season as a custom version adapted for indoor percussion.
